Speaker: Stuart Donovan

Stuart Donovan is a Senior Fellow at Motu Research based in Wellington.  Stuart holds a PhD in economics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and a master's degree in engineering science from the University of Auckland.  Stuart's research interests span spatial, urban, and transport economics; land use and infrastructure policy and planning; and applied econometrics. Currently, Stuart is serving on a Housing Expert Advisory Group (HEAG) advising the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development on the New Zealand Government's "Going for Housing Growth" programme as well as an independent panel reviewing the Infrastructure Priorities Programme for the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission. As a former Waiuku resident, Stuart is passionate about Auckland and helping it to reach its potential.

Speaker: Jason Wu

Jason Wu is the Assistant Director overseeing the Global Markets Analysis division at the International Monetary Fund, where he directs the Fund’s work on financial market surveillance and the flagship Global Financial Stability Report. Prior to joining the IMF, Jason was an Associate Director in the Division of International Finance at the Federal Reserve Board, overseeing the Global Financial Flows, Global Financial Institutions, and International Financial Stability groups.

Peter is Director of Economics at the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission, Te Waihanga. His objective in this role is to provide evidence on how we can increase the efficiency of the New Zealand infrastructure sector. He has previously worked in central government, local government and consultancy, often with a focus on housing, transport economics, and urban development.

Dr Bollard has had a distinguished career in public service and currently serves as the as chair of the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission. He previously served as the Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat and as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.
