What we do

Our purpose is to help Pacific secondary school students navigate entry into the faculty's undergraduate programmes.

Our mission is to inform and guide students through their subject selection, pathway planning, workshops, school visits, applications, scholarships, course advice and meeting entry requirements. This wrap-around support paves the way for a successful transition to university life. Our purpose is to grow the Pacific health workforce and improve health outcomes for Pacific communities across Aotearoa, New Zealand. 

How we support students

School engagement Interactive workshops and presentations across Years 11-13.

On campus workshops The Va'a Experience, Getting Ready Workshop and Year 13 Camp.
Māori and Pacific Admission Scheme (MAPAS) Guidance for application and general interview processes.

Guiding Pacific students into health careers

We support Pacific secondary school students in exploring and entering the health and medical sciences, helping grow the next generation of Pacific health professionals.

Steps to success

Year 9-10: Early discovery

Year 11-13: Laying the foundation

Year 11–12 students focus on preparing for university, with support tailored to the needs of Pacific students.

Our workshops and events lay the foundation for university, helping students explore health careers, gain university insights, and strengthen academic skills.

Year 12-13: Pathway planning

This stage offers final preparation for students pursuing studies in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, with a supportive network and resources for their university journey.
