About us

The Blood Cancer Research Unit (BCRU) is a specialist research team within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, dedicated to improving outcomes for people affected by blood cancers in Aotearoa.

Our work spans fundamental science, translational research, and clinical collaboration - all made possible through the generous support of Blood Cancer NZ.

Together with Blood Cancer NZ, we are building a future where blood cancers are better understood and more treatable, leading to longer lives, a better quality of life, and real hope for a cure.

The BCRU is led by three co-directors Professor Peter Browett, Professor Stefan Bohlander, and Associate Professor Rodger Tiedemann.
