Women’s understanding of breast density in Aotearoa New Zealand

This study aims to investigate women's current understanding of breast density in New Zealand, and evaluates whether information can successfully improve their understanding. The study also asks women their opinions on breast density reporting and about the use of AI in breast screening.

Taking part involves completing an anonymous online questionnaire on a phone, tablet, or computer. The questionnaire takes approximately 15–20 minutes.

You’ll be asked to:

• answer some questions about yourself and your current understanding of breast density 
• read a short information page about breast density
• answer further questions about what you have read

You may only take part once. For every completed questionnaire, the researchers will donate $5 to the Breast Cancer Foundation, up to a total of $1,500.

To participate, you must:

• be a woman/wāhine
• be aged 45 years or older
• live in Aotearoa New Zealand
• be able to read, write, and understand English
