Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences in Advanced Nursing
The Postgraduate Diploma in Health Sciences in Advanced Nursing is aimed at registered nurses seeking to advance their knowledge and skills. It is intended to give nurses the core generic skills and knowledge essential for advanced nursing practice in a specialist area, and preparation for research. The intent is that the postgraduate diploma will allow the nurse to develop competencies associated with advanced nursing practice.
Students who have completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences in Advanced Nursing may apply to credit the 60 points to the diploma, and then undertake an additional 60 points in courses to complete the diploma.
Programme structure
Students wishing to complete the PGDipHSc in Advanced Nursing specialisation are required to enrol in and complete the following courses, depending on the desired stream. If a student intends to proceed to a masters programme, a research methods course should be included.
