Speech science
Our research investigates aspects of speech, language and communication in both normal and disordered populations.
Communication is crucial to all human interaction and society. Our focus is on the New Zealand context. We have a particular interest in culture and language, including Māori, Pacific and other non-dominant culture and language contexts in Aotearoa.
We also have a strand of research whereby students or colleagues conduct projects in their home countries to benefit their populations who may have communication disorders.
