Join us as a Science Ambassador

We're recruiting Science Ambassadors for 2021 to engage, support and empower new students.

As a Science Ambassador, you'll share ideas, communicate knowledge, identify useful resources and help new students clarify and achieve their goals.

You'll help students navigate the University of Auckland campus, host study sessions and social events, and answer questions - though you won't be expected to answer academic questions, re-teach material or take the place of a lecturer. You'll receive two days of training in February, and maintain regular contact with your Ambassador Leader and Student Experience Advisers.

Benefits of being a Science Ambassador

  • Develop personal skills such as leadership, teamwork and coaching skills.
  • Revise and gain a deeper understanding of your subjects.
  • Gain valuable volunteer experience to enhance your CV.
  • Attend PASS training (international certification).
  • Meet and support first-year students.
  • Recommendation letter at the end of the year.
  • Support for Leadership and Service Awards.

As a Science Ambassador you can also get involved in a variety of additional development opportunities provided by the University of Auckland.
