CGM for pregnant people with type 2 diabetes

The University of Auckland is conducting a study for pregnant people with type 2 diabetes. The feasibility study is investigating using a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) to guide diabetes treatment during pregnancy.

What's involved?

The study involves wearing a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) for ten days before changing it and wearing it for another ten days. Participants will take finger prick glucose readings and complete a questionnaire about how diabetes affects them, at the start and end of the study. They will also complete an interview at the end of the study. The researcher will phone or visit to conduct the interview depending on people's personal preference.

At the end of the study, participants will have the extra option of having their baby's body composition measured by a midwife at Middlemore Hospital with a small ultrasound and a specialised scale.

Each participant will receive two free Dexcom one+CGM devices as well as a $100 voucher.
