Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences in Palliative Care
The Postgraduate Certificate in Health Sciences (PGCertHSc), specialising in Palliative Care, is offered by the Department of General Practice and Primary Health Care in the School of Population Health.
These courses are designed for clinicians working in palliative care as well as those in general practice, primary health care, hospital or community settings, and psychosocial services who wish to strengthen their skills and deepen their understanding in this area.
Programme structure
Students are required to complete 60 points from the following available courses:
- POPLPRAC 774: Psychosocial Issues in Palliative Care (30 points)
- POPLHLTH 777: Ethics and Societal Approaches to Death (30 points)
- POPLPRAC 772: Symptom Management in Palliative Care (30 points)
- POPLPRAC 773: Challenges in Symptom Management in Palliative Care (30 points)
IMPORTANT: Students must complete 30pts from POPLPRAC 774 or POPLHLTH 777 and 30pts from POPLRAC 772 or POPLPRAC 773*
