Programme structure

Each year you will take two 7.5-point SCISCHOL course
(please see the course prescriptions below). These 45 points will count towards
the points required to obtain a BSc or BAdvSci(Hons) but will not count towards
your major requirements.

As you advance through the courses you will develop
essential skills in critical thinking, teamwork and problem solving, as well as
'getting your hands dirty' doing some real research.

15 points:

• SCIGEN 101 Communicating in a Knowledge Society
• SCISCHOL 100a & b Science in Action
• MĀORI 130 Te Ao Māori: The Māori World
• PHIL 100 Mind, Knowledge and Society

30 points:

• SCISCHOL 202a & 202b Research and Discovery
• SCISCHOL 302a & 302b Science Scholars Project

Science Scholars also counts as a core requirement for the Bachelor of Advanced Science:

15 points:

• SCISCHOL 100a & b Science in Action

15 points:

• SCISCHOL 202a & b Research and Discovery

15 points:

• SCISCHOL 302a & b Science Scholars Project
