Postgraduate scholarships
The following scholarships are available to postgraduate engineering students.

I received the University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship. This covers the tuition fees and provides a living allowance. It is no engineering salary, but enough to cover my expenses during my research work. This means that I can work full time towards my PhD without worrying about income.
Andrew Pullan Bioengineering Masters Scholarship
- $10,000 stipend for one year, plus compulsory fees.
- Applicable study: Domestic students enrolling in a Masters of Engineering in Bioengineering and undertaking research related to the field of Gastrointestinal Motility.

AUEA Braithwaite-Thompson Graduate Research Award
- Up to $10,000 for one year for assistance. Up to two awarded.
- Applicable study: International student undertaking a ME, MOR or PhD in Engineering.

Bill Miller Engineering Scholarship
- Up to $6,000 for one year for tuition fees.
- Applicable study: Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study in the Faculty of Engineering.

Cecil Segedin Postgraduate Scholarships in Engineering Science
- $5,000 for one year for assistance.
- Applicable study: PhD/ME/MOR/MEngSt in the Department of Engineering Science

Colombo Plan Scholarship in Engineering
- $3,000 for one year for tuition fees.
- Applicable study: International student studying in the Faculty of Engineering.

Don Linklater Memorial Bursary
- $3,000 each year for up to three years.
- Applicable study: Enrolled and studying studying in 2016 at undergraduate or postgraduate level, either internally or extramurally, in a field relevant to Horizons work. Relevant areas include; resource management, environmental planning, environmental engineering and modelling with particular emphasis on river and drainage basin dynamics.

The Dick and Mary Earle Scholarship in Technology
- $17,000 per annum at Masters level and $25,000 per annum at PhD level.
- Applicable study: NZ citizen or Permanent Resident interested in research in innovation and product development, or biprocess technology.

Douglas Goodfellow Scholarship in Engineering
- $2,500 pa. for one year for assistance.
- Applicable study: Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students at the Faculty of Engineering.

Energy and Fuels Research Unit (EFRU) Scholarships
- $10,000 pa. for one year for assistance. Number of scholarships awarded varies.
- Applicable study: ME or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.

Energy Education Trust of New Zealand Doctoral Scholarships
- Up to $8,000 pa. for up to three years.
- Applicable study: Doctoral students in the Faculties of Business, Engineering and Science undertaking studies related to the field of energy.

Freemasons Scholarships
- The Freemasons Scholarships are to assist able students who are active in their involvement in the community, to complete their university education in their chosen field. Up to $10,000.
- Applicable study: Available to postgraduate students of all disciplines, this scholarship helps students who are active in their involvement in the community, to complete their university education in their chosen field.

Jeannie Cheong Lean Eng Memorial Engineering Scholarship
- $3,000 for one year.
- Applicable study: Citizens of Malaysia studying in the Faculty of Engineering

Mercer Memorial Scholarship in Aeronautics
- $3,500 pa. for one year – assistance to engage in original work.
- Applicable study: Students who are undertaking postgraduate research in Aeronautics.

Penny Peng Wang Scholarship
- $2,000
- Applicable study: Student enrolled in the Master of Engineering Studies specialising in Transportation and enrolled in CIVIL 770, Transport Systems Economics.

Prime Minister's Scholarships for Asia (PMSA)
- Value of the scholarship is based on the level and length of study, the destination country and institution. It can cover travel, accommodation, course fees and living costs.
- Applicable study: Undergraduate or postgraduate students wanting to undertake study and/or research in Asia in programmes between six weeks and two years duration, in a subject area that can be linked to New Zealand's economic or trade agenda.

The Todd Foundation Postgraduate Scholarship in Energy Research
- $25,000 per annum to include tuition fees, with an additional $3,000 for attendance at an appropriate conference.
- Applicable study: PhD candidates in Energy research

- Up to $10,000 for up to one year of full-time study or equivalent.
- Applicable study: ME Thesis in Bioengineering

- Up to $27,300 plus domestic fees.
- Applicable study: Full-time student undertaking a PhD in engineering. All applications are based on academic merit and are to be submitted to the Scholarships Office at the ClockTower.

- $500 - $5,000 Study related costs.

Van-Thanh Nguyen PhD Engineering Scholarship
- $7,500 for up to four years.
- Applicable study: Citizens of Vietnam, who are living in Vietnam at the time of application, for enrolment in a PhD degree at the Faculty of Engineering.
