Prize Value Criteria
AJ Park Prize in Intellectual Property and Innovation $1000 The Prize will be awarded annually to the full-time student enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce who achieves the highest mark in COMLAW 320.
Anne Webb Prize in Contract Law $200 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who achieves the highest mark in course COMLAW 201 whilst enrolled for the degree of Bachelor of Commerce.
Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Prize $250 The Prize will be awarded each semester to the full-time student achieving the highest mark in ACCTG 371, Financial Statements Analysis.
BG Hardie Economics Prize $1,250 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student achieving the highest mark in the empirical examination of historic economic data in ECON 788 or ECON 790.
Boston Consulting Group Prize in Strategy $2,000 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student achieving the highest marks in BUSADMIN 729 in the MBA programme.
Business School Prize for Best Doctoral Thesis $1,000 One Prize will be awarded annually to the student who, in the opinion of the Business School PhD Sub-Committee, completed the best doctoral thesis impacting New Zealand and global business, in the previous year.
Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Prizes $500 Stage III
$350 Stage II

The Prizes will be awarded to the students who achieved the highest overall marks in the following courses:  ACCTG 211 (Financial Accounting); ACCTG 221 (Cost and Management Accounting); ACCTG 222 (Accounting Information Systems); ACCTG 311 (Financial Accounting), ACCTG 312 (Auditing); ACCTG 321/323/331 (Management Accounting courses).
CPA Australia Advanced Tax Student of the Year Prize $500 plus funded admission to CPA Congress
The Prize will be awarded annually to the full-time student enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce who achieves the highest mark in COMLAW 311 Advanced Taxation.
CPA Australia Prize $1,000 The Prize will be awarded annually to the full-time student achieving the highest average mark in a minimum of four 300-level courses in Accounting.
Dean's Senior Prize in the Master of Business Administration $1,000 The Prize will be awarded each year to the most academically meritorious student completing the requirements for the Master of Business Administration, taking into account all course work over the entire programme.
Dean's Senior Prize in Master of Management $1,000 The Prize will be awarded annually to the most academically meritorious student completing the requirements for the Master of Management, in the year of the award, taking into account all work over the whole programme.
Dean's Senior Prize Postgraduate Diploma in Business $500 The Prizes will be awarded annually to the most academically meritorious students completing the requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma in Business, in the options mentioned above, in the year of the award, taking into account all work over the whole programme.
Deloitte Prize in Advanced Financial Accounting $125 First prize
$75 Second prize
The Prizes will be awarded annually to the full-time students achieving the highest marks in the course ACCTG 311 or ACCTG 392.4.
Deloitte Prize in Taxation $150 The Prize will be awarded annually to the full-time student achieving the highest mark in course COMLAW 301.
Equinox Capital Proprty Project Prize $1,000 The Prize will be awarded annually to the full-time student achieving the highest mark in the PROPERTY 371 Property Project.
F E R Noble Memorial Prize $500 The Prize will be awarded to the student who, in the year of the award, completes the degree of Bachelor of Property with the best record in PROPERTY 311 and PROPERTY 351.
Financial Markets Authority Honours/Masters Prize $1,000 The Prize will be awarded annually to the Honours or Masters student achieving the highest overall marks in a dissertation or thesis that has been undertaken on one of the FMA’s approved topics of interest. To be eligible for consideration, the dissertation or thesis must have been fully assessed with the final grade approved by 31 January of the year in which the selection decision is made (see Notes i and ii).
Finology Honours Prize in Accounting $1,000 Two Prizes will be awarded annually to the two full-time students whohave achieved the highest overall marks in Accounting 702 / Finance 702:Governance Issues in Accounting, at The University of Auckland BusinessSchool.
George S Holmes Memorial Prize $250 in Book Vouchers The Prize will be awarded annually to the most meritorious student completing the requirements for the Postgraduate Diploma in Business in the year of the award, taking into account all work over the whole programme.
Gerald Brown Memorial Award $1,000 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who, having completed a Bachelor of Property or BProp conjoint, enters postgraduate study in the Department of Property with the highest GPA from their level three BProp courses. (If there is no applicant, the Head of the Department of Property has the authority to present the award to any postgraduate student in Property to assist with their study.)
H R Rodwell Prize in Economics $1250 The Prize will be awarded annually to the most academically meritorious student who, having completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons), enters the Master of Commerce (Economics) programme.
KPMG Prizes in Auditing $200 First prize
$100 Second prize
A First Prize of $200 and a Second Prize of $100 will be awarded annually and will be open to students taking Auditing course ACCTG 312 as prescribed for the degree of Bachelor of Commerce. (Prize winners are expected to expend at least a portion of the Prize money on the purchase of any appropriate book[s]).
Lesley Allison Memorial Prize $1,000 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who is enrolled in the Bachelor of Property or Bachelor of Property conjoint who achieved the highest mark in the Building Construction course, PROPERTY 281.
NZ Superannuation Fund Accounting and Finance Final Year Prize $1,000 The Prize will be awarded annually to the Māori student completing their third year of full-time study in a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Property degree, majoring in Accounting and Finance, who has achieved the highest GPA in their stage II and stage III courses in Accounting and/or Finance.
NZ Superannuation Fund Accounting and Finance Stage III Prize $1,000 The Prize will be awarded annually to a full-time student enrolled in a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree majoring in Accounting or Finance, who achieved the highest GPA in their stage III Accounting and Finance courses.
Property Institute of New Zealand Student of the Year $500 The Prize will be awarded annually to a member of the Property Institute of New Zealand who is a full-time graduating student achieving the best overall grades in the Bachelor of Property Degree.
Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Prize AU$300 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who achieved the highest grades in Advanced Property Management, Property 331.3.
Saturn Group Prize $1,000 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student achieving the highest mark in BUSADMIN 768 Strategy.
Squire Speedy Prize in Property $400 The Prize will be awarded annually for the most meritorious work in PROPERTY 211 and PROPERTY 261 for the degree of Bachelor of Property or Bachelor of Property conjoint.
W K S Christiansen Prize $500 The Prize will be awarded annually to the student who achieved the highest grade in the Introduction to Property course, PROPERTY 102.
Yvonne Sogno Prizes in Finance $250 One Prize will be awarded to the student achieving the highest mark in course FINANCE 361, and one to the student achieving the highest mark in course FINANCE 251.
