I am deeply honoured to be associated with such an inspiring group of previous recipients. It helped me through my BE(Hons) with First Class Honours before pursuing my PhD. I am currently conducting research on the use of novel non-thermal technologies to preserve wines by inactivating spoilage microorganisms. It is my aim, with the aid of my research, to make a significant contribution to the engineering industry not only in New Zealand, but worldwide as well.
