Scholarships for international students

As an international student in the Faculty of Arts, you could be eligible for a range of scholarships to fund your study.

Faculty of Arts Sub-doctoral Postgraduate Scholarship

A Scholarship of up to $10,000 towards compulsory tuition fees for domestic and international students enrolling full-time or part-time in a sub-doctoral postgraduate programme in the Faculty of Arts.

University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship

Up to 50 of these scholarships are awarded annually to international students undertaking an undergraduate degree, a postgraduate diploma or taught masters, to the value of up to $10,000 per annum.

Arthington Davy Scholarship
A private-funded scholarship for students to carry out study and research that will benefit the Kingdom of Tonga.

Canadian student loans
The University of Auckland participates in the Canadian Federal and Provincial Student Loan programmes. Our Institution Code is VUAB.

Chilean CONICYT Scholarships
The Chilean Government CONICYT Scholarships are open to students from the Republic of Chile who intend to undertake a masters or PhD programme at the University of Auckland.

China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarships
The CSC and the University of Auckland jointly award scholarships to Chinese students who want to carry out PhD study in New Zealand.

German Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst Scholarships
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD, or Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) funds the further academic and personal qualifications of outstanding German undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as young academics and researchers.

ICETEX (Colombia)
A loan for Colombian students who intend to pursue higher studies.

OSCS Scholarships
Scholarships for citizens of Thailand.

US Financial Aid
If you are a US Citizen you can apply for US Financial Aid to assist in funding your education while studying at the University of Auckland.

University of Auckland Fulbright Scholarship
A scholarship for citizens of the United States of America who are intending to take up Fulbright Awards to study in New Zealand and who intend to enrol full-time at the University of Auckland for an approved masters or doctoral degree.

Development Scholarships

Development scholarships provide an opportunity for students from selected developing countries to pursue studies in development-related fields.

Upon completion of their programmes, students are expected to return and contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries.

Currently we have scholarships funded by the New Zealand Aid Programme.
